LAHORE: Regional Tax Office (RTO) Chief Commissioner Office Lahore has blocked salaries of seven sales tax officers.

Sources told Customs Today that the commissioner office discontinued the salaries of the officers who failed to join their duties at the RTO following their transfers from Model Customs Collectorate MCC-Lahore.

The officers whose salaries are blocked include Meer Suleman, Shahid Naseem Joya, Abid Ismail, Abdul Rasheed Anjum, Mian Tariq, Tanvir Akbar and Raza Tufail.

On the other hand, the sources said that the officers could not join their duties at the RTO as they were not relieved from their position in the MCC-Lahore by their officers due to the acute shortage of officers at the MCC-Lahore.

Federal Board of Revenue had transferred above 30 officers from MCC-Lahore during the month of January.

Sources added that to resolve the issue, MCC Central Region chief collector has taken up the issue with the top FBR officials.
