Container ships carrying palm oil, chemicals berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Safmarine Ngami, C.V ACX Crystal and C.V MS Atlanta carrying containers were berthed at Containers Terminal berth No 5, 8 and 9, respectively at Port Qasim on Monday.

On Sunday, four ships C.VK Phoenix, M.T SC Dong Hai, M.T. Golden Ambrosia and M.T. AL-Mahboobah carrying palm oil and chemicals were landed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Multi Purpose and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively at Port Qasim.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 50 percent on Sunday, where seven ships namely ships C.V K Phoenix, M.V Ikan Prang, M.V Sea Luck- II, M.V Hagmersindi, M.T SC Don Hai, M.T Golden Ambrosia and M.T Al Mahboobah are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, sunflowers seeds, wheat, and chemicals, respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 36,838 tonnes, comprises 27,699 tonnes imports and 9,139 tonnes exports inclusive containerised cargo carried in 996 containers (TEUs) (626 imports and 481 exports (TEUs) were handled at the port during the last 24 hours.

Container vessel ‘K Phoenix’ sailed out to sea on Monday morning while another on tanker ‘Al Mahboobah’ is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
