LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has collected 76 percent of the target under the head of cotton fee in nine and half month of the fiscal year of 2014-15.
According to official sources and documents available to Customs Today, the Punjab excise has collected this amount against the target of Rs 613 million for the fiscal year of 2014-15. Total revenue generated by Punjab excise through cotton fee was Rs 465 million up to 15 April 2015.
Meanwhile in the wake of education cess, excise collected just Rs 10 million in the same period which is a big failure. As per details excise department has only recovered 52 percent in education cess against the target of Rs 20 million for the current fiscal year.
