Sources informed Customs Today that customs has recovered 25 parts of pistol and 97 magazines from the accused who was boarded a Turkish Airline. “On investigations, the arrested smuggler has confessed to his crime, saying he had previously smuggled four such consignments to Pakistan,” sources said.

An FIR has been lodged against the smuggler under section 2(S), 156(1)(8) of Customs Act 1967 and in contravention of Import Policy 2013.

During questioning the accused accepted that he had been smuggling such consignments of arms in his personal baggage on regular basis. He also confessed to have brought four such consignments previously on different occasions. The court adjourned the hearing of the case on October 2.
