Court orders SSP to take action against officials for arresting union president, others

ISLAMABAD: Additional Session Judge Lahore Shahida Saeed has ordered SSP Investigation Lahore to investigate why the President Federal Revenue Alliance Union Abdul Qayyum and others were arrested before registration of an FIR against them. The additional judge has declared this act as objectionable and ordered the SSP to take departmental action against the officials if found guilty.

The union officials had filed a petition against the baton charge, torture and arrests from Police in Lahore. The officials were locked in Anarkali Police Station without registration of FIR, bailiff were sent to recover those people, when bailiff asked for FIR from Police they said that FIR is registered in Mazang Police Station but they are kept here due to security problems in Mazang  Station.

After the visit of bailiff an Fir was registered in Anarkali Police Station too, after hearing of the petition the Court has set the arrested men free and ordered  SSP Investigation to look into the matter thoroughly. Federal Revenue Alliance has submitted documents as record to the court upon which the investigation will start now.
