Currency smuggling case hearing against Ayyan adjourned

RAWALPINDI: The Customs Court adjourned the hearing of the currency smuggling case against model Ayyan Ali. Custom Court judge Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan heard the proceeding of the case.

The judge expressed his anger over the absence of Ayyan Ali from the hearing and ordered her to appear on the next proceeding of the case. Ayyan Ali had filed a petition seeking exemption from attending the court hearing for a day.

The hearing of the currency smuggling case against the model was adjourned until January 6. The judge remarked that exparte action will be taken against Ayyan and her bail can be cancelled if she fails to appear in the court.

It should be noted that the model was arrested from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Rawalpindi over carrying more than $500,000 with her. She has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court seeking her name withdrawal from the Exit Control List.
