Custom I&I confiscates electronics goods worth Rs6.50m on Tuesday

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta confiscated electronics items worth Rs 6.50 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Iran Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle electronics items from Quetta to Karachi.

He immediately constituted a raiding team. Team In-charge Ataullah Khaskheli and others enhanced the vigilance on the Quetta Balari check-post and started a search operation of vehicles.

During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: SL-3369 which was going out of the city. During the checking, the customs team recovered 30 LED TVs 32 inches, 30 plus laser jet used printers, 50 laptop systems and a big quantity of Ram (Random access memory) worth Rs 6.50 million.  The customs team seized the all electronics items and arrested truck driver.

The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smuggler and start investigation.

Earlier, Directorate of of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated huge quantity of foreign origin hashish worth Rs21million and arrested one person.
