Customs Adjudication ADC Beelam hears 16 cases on Saturday

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam ur Ramzan heard 16 cases of smuggling involving millions of rupees field by the Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Faisalabad, Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhang, import and DTRE branches on Saturday.

The Faisalabad ASO registered five cases of smuggling against the accused persons. A case was registered against Muhammad Saeed allegedly involved in bringing old and used machinery worth Rs 1.163 million into country without payment of duty and taxes, while another case was filed against Muhammad Amjad allegedly involved in smuggling of Pine cigarettes worth Rs 1.585 million. The ASO also forwarded a case of Muhammad Amin allegedly involved in smuggling of used Toyota Premio car worth Rs 1.17 million, a case of Muhammad Ajmal involved in non-duty paid Toyota Honda Accord car worth Rs 1.4 million and a case of another smuggling vehicle Hilux Surf worth Rs 1.45 million was also submitted to the Customs Adjudication against unknown person.

Furthermore, the adjudication heard five cases, which were submitted by Mianwali ASO, including a case of used Hino truck against Mir Ahmad, a case of Toyota Axio G car worth Rs 1.101 million against Rafiullah. The ASO forward a case against Alamgir Khan allegedly involved in a case of Toyota Premio car worth Rs 2.086 million and a case against unknown person allegedly involved in Lexus V-6 car worth Rs 2.74 million. The adjudication also heard a case against Tajuddin involved in Toyota Hilux double cabin worth Rs 1.598 million brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes.

Additional Collector Beelam ur Ramzan heard two others cases submitted by Jhnag ASO against Shahid Zaman allegedly involved in smuggling of ladies printed fabrics, etc worth Rs 1.99 million and a case of used Land Cruiser Prado worth Rs 1.297 million against Muhammad Irfan.

The Customs Adjudication heard one cases of smuggling of Toyota Hilux Surf involving Rs 1.139 million against Muhammad Yousaf forward by Sargodha ASO.

The Faisalabad Customs import branch sent two other cases to the adjudication for legal action. The cases are against a company, Fazal and others, and M/s Maqsood Traders which brought a consignment of aluminium Sheets and electric cables etc on the base of fake documents.

The Faisalabad Customs DTRE branch forwarded one case of smuggling to Customs Adjudication involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.585 million against the M/S JK spinning. The additional collector after hearing adjourned Some of cases until next hearing.
