Customs Adjudication decides 232 cases involving Rs509.663m revenue

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication settled as many as 232 cases involving revenue of Rs509.663million during eight months from July to March of Fiscal Year 2017-18.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Adjudication issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favor of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad and Customs Intelligence and Investigations Faisalabad and Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab.

The sources further said that all 59 cases include seizures of cloths, Indian origin food grains, Iranian diesel, cell phones, foreign origin cigarettes, spare-parts, Toyota Corolla vehicles with different registration numbers, ladies cloths and toys. The goods were confiscated during different raids executed by the customs authorities.

According to a monthly statement, Faisalabad Adjudication Collector Asif Abbas decided 25 cases involving Rs326.631million revenue whereas Additional Collector Asma Hameed did 71 smuggling cases involving Rs120.682million of taxes and duties.

Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz settled 136 cases involving Rs62.350million revenue and announced decisions in favor of the Customs Intelligence and Investigations and Anti-Smuggling Organizations (ASO) Faisalabad, Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhang and Sara-e-Muhajir.
