Customs Adjudication declares seizure of Toyota Land Cruiser as legal

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Collector Adnan Akram has issued Order-in-Original by declaring seizure of Toyota Land Cruiser (V-8) car as legal.

According to details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has taken custody of impounded Toyota Land Cruiser V-8 jeep bearing registration number EG-008/Islamabad model 2007 from Border Military Police (BMP)  Rakhi Gaaj ,Ddstrict Dera Ghazi Khan under section 550 c in their action.

Field Intelligence Unit of Multan Customs asked the owner to present legal documents of the said vehicle but he failed to provide any document regarding the possession of vehicle. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation team seized the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings. Collector Muhammad Adnan Akram issued a show cause notice to the owner of the non-duty paid vehicle asking him to appear in person and explain his point of view.

Owner Muahmmad Yousaf son of Muhammad who was resident of Loralai claimed the ownership of the vehicle after issuance of show cause notice from Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office. He appeared before the Customs Adjudication and provides legal evidences of the vehicle but Customs Intelligence presented forensic Science laboratory reports and vehicle registration record of the vehicle which proves that said vehicle was smuggled one and it was entered into the country through clandestine routes without any duty and taxes of almost Rs5 million.

After completion of trial Customs Collector Adjudication declared seizure of non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle as lawful and issued order-in-original for the out rightly confiscation of said vehicle.
