Customs Adjudication-I to issue 47 show-cause notices to fabric importers

KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I is going to issue 47 show-cause notices (SCNs) to fabric importers who involved in mis-declaration.

According to details, the Office of the Collector, Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I has to issue three show-cause notices to the importers and remaining show-cause notices to be issued by the offices of Additional Collector, Deputy Collector and Assistant Collector in the first phase.

The sources further confirmed that the hearing of the show-cause notices would be conducted from Aug 15.
It is important to mention here that the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West has forwarded more than 70 contravention reports till June 26, 2014 to the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication.

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court (SHC) in its verdict has already allowed the importers to clear their consignments at the rate of US$4.50per Kg.
