Customs AIIA foils bid to smuggle 11kgs of katamine

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport and arrested two passengers who were attempting to smuggle 11 kilograms of katamine.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Allama Iqbal International Airport Azmat Tahira directed to enhance monitoring of all passengers who were departing from Lahore after receiving credible information about smuggling of narcotics.

The customs team intercepted two passengers who were later identified as Tahir Mehmood and Mubashar Salim. Both passengers were travelling by Oman Air. On suspicion customs team searched their luggage and recovered over 11 kilograms of katamine.

Sources told that the recovered narcotics were tactfully hidden in the secret parts of their baggage. Customs team arrested both passengers and after registering FIR started further investigations.

It is necessary to mention here that after assuming the charge of Collector Allama Iqbal International Airport.
