Customs Appellate Tribunal chairman to hear several complaints filed by different companies today

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal Chairman Justice (r) Malik Manzoor Hussain will hear several customs complaints as single bench on Monday (today).

As many as 10 appellants had submitted complaints by challenging the decisions announced by the Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad, Directorate General of Investigation and Intelligence, Islamabad and Directorate General of Investigation and Intelligence, Peshawar before the appellate tribunal.

Five complainants had challenged the decisions of the Islamabad Customs authorities and they included Five Star Trading Trust Co., Asif Ali, Zulifqar Ali, M/s Almaco Private Limited, and Aftab Ahmed.

Mirza Muhammad Majid and Rasheed Ahmed had challenged the decisions announced by the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad while M/s Al-Anfaal Trust had filed the case against the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Peshawar.

The chairman had listed the cases to be heard by him as single bench owing to their importance. All of said cases were filed during the period between 2015 and 2016 which had been listed after completion of majority old cases amid previous hearings headed by the chairman at the tribunal’s headquarters in Islamabad.

Earlier, the chairman had directed the administration to enlist old cases before the benches in order to being immediate relief to the complainants.
