Customs Appellate Tribunal hears 13 cases on Tuesday

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal division bench-II comprising Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem and Member Technical Imran Tariq heard 13 cases and adjourned all the cases until the next hearing.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal adjourned the hearing of 13 cases which includes Pakistan Electron Limited (PEL) versus Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore, customs Lahore versus Punjab Impex, Safder Ali versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, customs Faisalabad versus Iftekhar Ahmed.

On Tuesday, the tribunal heard cases of Farhan Saleem versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, Abdul Bari versus customs Faisalabad, Roshan Packages versus customs Sambrial and Aamir Shahzad versus customs Faisalabad.

Furthermore, the tribunal heard Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Muhammad Akram Chohan, Abdul Rehman versus customs Sambrial, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Arif Abdullah, customs Lahore versus Malik Abid Mehmood and customs Multan versus Abdul Rauf.

In all the cases, the representatives of the appellants and respondents appeared before the court and argued in favor of their respective parties. After hearing the arguments from the parties, the Customs Appellate Tribunal reserve verdict in few cases and adjourned all the other cases until the next hearing.

On the next fixed dates customs appellate tribunal will hear the cases on the said dates. Tribunal members will also hear the final arguements in few cases that will be decided on the next dates.

The bench one is not working properly now a days, in some specific cases chairman customs appellate trial fix the hearing and the members of Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar also hears cases in Lahore.
