Customs Appellate Tribunal to hear customs reference of Warid Telecom today

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal will hear a customs reference of M/s Warid Telecom (Private) Limited on Friday (today).

A division bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal comprising Syed Muhammad Anwar and Muhammad Nasir Khan would hear the case. M/s Warid Telecom (Private) Limited had filed the case against Model Coollectorate of Customs, Islamabad. The company had filed the case in 2016.

M/s Warid Telecom had challenged a decision announced by the department’s adjudication for sustaining claims of recoverable customs duty of around Rs 40 million.

Meanwhile, the bench had adjourned hearing of a customs reference filed by M/s Ericson Pakistan (Private) Limited, Islamabad. It had also filed a case against MCC and had challenged adjudication’s announcement regarding classification of imported goods and evasion of customs duty.
