Customs Appellate Tribunal will hear seven cases today

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal Chairman Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain will hear multiple cases involving customs references on Tuesday (today).

A single bench comprising Chairman Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain will hear as many as seven cases out of which two are filed by Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad and five others are filed by United Trading Co., M/s Janjua Life Trust, M/s Smart Zone and M/s Venus Pakistan (Private) Limited.

M/s Janjua Life Trust had filed two cases and through these cases the trust had challenged Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.

United Trading Co. and M/s Venus Pakistan Private Limited had also challenged decisions announced by Customs Adjudication. M/s Smart Zone had filed petition against Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad.

Two petitions filed by assistant collector and additional collector, Islamabad against M/s Ayub Traders and others were also among the cases to be heard on Tuesday (today).

These cases are being heard by the newly appointed chairman of tribunal, Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain as part of his initial hearings at tribunal. The chairman would continue hearings at the tribunal for couple of more days before he leave for other stations.

As per directions of the chairman, old cases were being listed for hearing on priority basis. However some important cases filed recently were also included in the list.
