Customs Appraisement-West collects Rs 22.3b in September

KARACHI: Collector Farid Iqbal’s Customs Appraisement-West collected Rs 22.341 billion in wake of duty/taxes under various heads during September 2016.

The Appraisement-West generated Rs 9,488 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 9,150 million as sales tax, Rs 3,547 million as income tax and Rs 156 million as federal excise duty.

Significantly, the department collected Rs 3,388 million in the wake of duty/taxes on the last day i.e. September 30, 2016 that included Rs 2,023 million under head of customs duty; Rs 948 million as sales tax; Rs 395 million as income tax and Rs 16 million under head of federal excise duty.

Meanwhile, the Customs Appraisement-East collected Rs 21.476 billion under the head of duty/taxes during the said period.

It collected Rs 21.476 billion taxes and duties that included Rs 7.164 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 10.485 billion as sales tax, Rs 3.741 billion as income tax and Rs 86 million as federal excise duty in September 2016.

The Appraisement-East collected Rs 70.669 billion since July 1 to September 30, 2016 that included Rs 24.780 billion under the head of customs duty; Rs 33.015 billion as sales tax; Rs 12.557 billion as income tax and Rs 317 million as federal excise duty.
