Customs ASO impounds non duty paid Toyota Premio

LAHORE: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has detained illegally imported Toyota Premio Car near the area of The Mall.

The official source said that on information the Customs authorities intercepted a Toyota Premio car bearing registration no: LEC/ 967 and demanded legal documents from the driver who introduced himself as Sarwat Hakeem a resident of Shakargarh district Narowal.

The sources said that the customs authorities after detaining the car have allowed the owner of the car to produce legal documents with two and three days.

The source said that the customs authorities the car has been sent from the forensic test while the inspector who detected the vehicle said the engine number of the vehicle was not visible. The vehicle was of silver colour and its model is 2002.

The Customs authorities have asked the owner of the car to produce the legal documents against the vehicle within three days failing which the vehicle will be seized under 168 section of the Customs Act.

The vehicle was detained by a team of ASO led by Deputy Collector Moazzam Raza with Superintendent Nasir Minhas, Inspector MA Iqbal and others.
