Customs ASO impounds Rs10 m illegally imported Land Cruiser

LAHORE: Collectorate Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized Rs 10 million Toyota Land Cruiser, Model 2010 from Gulberg Main Market, sources told Customs Today the other day.

The sources said that the Anti-Smuggling Organization of Custom Collectorate Preventive, Lahore in pursuant to an information under the supervision of assistant collector and Superintendent Waqar Ahmad Cheema intercepted a non-duty paid / smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser  which was plying on the road with fake registration. The value of intercepted is Rs. 10.00 million.

The sources said that the plate number was found as fake and the driver of the vehicle was also not able to produce any document against the vehicle.

The ASO team being fully satisfied finally seized the vehicle in the name of the state and registering case have started further investigation, the sources informed.  The sources also said that the vehicle has been sent for forensic test in the laboratory.
