Customs ASO seizes 54 bottles of foreign origin liquor

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) squad seized A 54 foreign origin Absolute Vodka and Sumernof Vodka bottles including offending vehicle.
Talking with Customs Today Collector Seema Raza said after receiving credible information about smuggling of liquor, an anti-smuggling squad was constituted under the supervision of Superintendent Malik Abid Hussai. The anti-smuggling squad established a check post near Tramri Chowk Islamabad.
She said that the squad signaled the offending (vehicle carrying smuggled goods) while the driver ignored and geared up the vehicle. ASO squad chased the vehicle while the driver of the vehicle parked the car on road side and succeeded to escape from the scene.
The ASO squad get the vehicle in custody and made thoroughly search of the vehicle and found huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled liquor 54 bottles of Vodka from digi of the vehicle. The squad shifted the seized liquor and offending vehicle in to the state ware house.
Collector Seema Raza said that a case has been registered against the unknown offenders while further investigation is under way , market value of seized goods is estimated in millions.
