Customs ASO seizes foreign currency, NDP vehicles, smart phones from Torkham border

PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team deputed at Torkham border have seized more than two lakhs US dollars along with 55 smart phones and two Toyota Vitz cars.

Collector Customs Preventive Khalik Ibrahim Yousafani told Customs Today that in an intelligence based operation at Torkham, the Customs staff of MCC E&C (Enforcement and Compliance) Peshawar has seized an amount of US$2,33,620 along with 55 smart mobile phones.

The accused were carrying foreign currency and smart phones in two Toyota Vitz cars, the value of vehicles were estimated around Rs40 million.

The Collector Preventive further told that four persons were arrested and are subsequently interrogated by Customs and CTD (Counter Terrorism Department) Peshawar to ascertain terror financing.
