LAHORE: Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling collectorate, Friday, seized a non-customs paid Mark-X model 2009 from a top police official’s family, sources told Customs Today.
On the condition of anonymity, the sources said that the family of the police official was on shopping at the Icchra bazar when the customs officials were informed that the vehicle was parked outside the bazaar.
Sources said that the customs officials, confirming that the car was being plied on fake number plate, seized it on the spot. The value of the car is estimated at Rs 5 million.
Meanwhile, the customs authorities seized 500 kilograms foreign origin cloth worth millions of rupees from Railways station. In yet another raid, the customs authorities seized non-customs paid car lifter near Ganaga Ram Hospital. The sources said that the lifter was owned by private people. The operations were conducted by ASO team consisting Munawar Khan, Mazhar Bhutter, Qayyum Butter and others. The goods and articles and vehicles were seized on the instructions of ASO Assistant collector Dr Adnan Khan.
