FAISALABAD: Customs anti-smuggling organization (ASO) Sara-e-Muhajir has seized smuggled cloth worth Rs 2.3 million during a crackdown.
Sources informed Customs Today that the ASO team received information about some smuggling attempts in the region. The ASO team enhanced its surveillance and intercepted a vehicle. The ASO team asked the driver who was identified as Muhammad Ali son of Muhammad Hayat to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the cloth.
But the driver of the vehicle and another person Abdul Manan son of Gul Baran failed to produce and relevant documents. After their failure, ASO team seized the cloth and registered a case of smuggling against the accused persons.
