LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation on Saturday seized over 20 tons of foreign origin curtain cloth from a godown at railways station.
Official sources told Customs Today that on a secret information the customs team intercepted two trucks and seized curtain cloth as the owners failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession of the item.
It was added that the trucks were loaded at the nearby godown at railways station and were being transported to Akbari Mandi. The sources said that the total value of the cloth is determined at Rs 9 million. It was also added that a case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
The raiding team was led by Superintendent Yasin Malik was consisting of Superintendent Amjad Malik, Sohail Murtza, Zulfiqar, and others. The customs authorities after registering a case have started investigations to reach to the owner of the cloth.
