Customs ASO starts probe into smuggled diesel worth millions of rupees

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti- Smuggling Organization (ASO) has taken the custody of the smuggled high speed Diesel worth millions of rupees.

According to the details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti-Smuggling Organization has registered a case against a culprit named Muhammad Haleem who is involved in the smuggling.

Source informed Customs Today that the Mouchko police station mobile, during a routine patrolling, intercepted a ten wheeler truck No TKX-370. After its checking, the police team recovered a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel worth millions of rupees.

The SHO Babar Hameed along with Sub Inspector (SI) of Mouchko Police Station contacted the concern authorities of the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) and have handed over the apprehended smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) as well as the driver of the truck after the legal  proceedings under section 54 Code of Criminal Procedure.

The source has also informed that the officers of the Anti- Smuggling Organization (ASO) have registered the case as per their rules and regulations whereas the investigation has been started from the driver of the ten wheeler truck.

The source also informed that the Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) was being transported through ten wheeler truck bearing No TKX-370 hidden in different compartments of it. The recovered Iranian origin high speed Diesel (HSD) is approximately forty thousand liters.
