Customs authorities seizes 700kg fireworks

LAHORE: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized 700 kilogram of fireworks from the stand of goods transport company, Mushtarka Goods, near Sagian bridge.

Source told Customs Today that, on secret information, Inspector Customs Abdul Rehman Butt raided the goods transport company and seized 700 kilograms of fireworks the movement and sale of which is prohibited under the Customs Act section 2(2).

The customs sources said that the owner of the company fled away from the scene. The fireworks were to be transported to other cities.

The source said that the ASO team that seized fireworks included Ch Aslam,  Aslam ASI, Muhammad Tufail and Naveed Mustafa. The customs have started investigations after registering a case against suspects.
