Customs, CAA discuss arrangements at new Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: Officials of the Model Customs Collectorate and Civil Association Authority (CAA) held a meeting to discuss issues of baggage and passengers’ clearance and import/export arrangements at new Islamabad airport that is under construction.

A team of Islamabad Customs comprising additional collector and deputy collector hold this meeting during his visit to the site for new airport. During the meeting, the customs authorities showed their strong interest in quick installation of the required equipments at the airport to guarantee the flat customs clearance process of the incoming and outgoing passengers at the new airport

Officials said that the new airport will be completed by the end of December, 2016, adding that efforts are being made to facilitate the passengers and import/export in a speedy way.

The officers of custom also discussed the issues of baggage scanning machines, space allocation for the processing of consignments and provision of the CCTV cameras.
