Customs capable of achieving new revenue collection targets: Member Customs Zahid Khokhar

ISLAMABAD: After showing tremendous performance in terms of revenue collection, on the advice of State Minister of Revenue Haroon Akhtar, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Dr Muhammad Irshad has decided to increase the revenue collection target for the current financial year for Pakistan Customs from 23 percent to 28 percent.

Taking to Customs Today the newly appointed Member Customs Federal Board of Revenue Zahid Khokhar has confirmed and said, “Although new target is much higher than the previous year and also challenging, but I hope that the Customs Department is capable of achieving the new targets.”

He expressed the determination to introduce revolutionary measures in Pakistan Customs. Member Customs Zahid Khokhar said that his department has already adopted comprehensive measures to enhance revenue generation.

He said Federal Board of Revenue is playing significant role in the development of national economy. He urged all chief collectors and collectors to use all resources to enhance revenue generation. He said the role of Customs is going to be very important in future especially after the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Many projects are still underway in this regard. Better management key to solution of many problems. He conveyed the message to customs officers and staff that my doors are always open for them and in case of any problem everyone can direct contact with Customs.
