Customs Central Region collects Rs66205m sales tax in ten months of FY 2016-17

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs66205 million under the head of sales tax during the first ten months of financial year 2016-17 (July-April).

Sources told Customs Today the sales tax collection has been collected by all the four collectorates of customs including Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement,  Colletorate of Customs Multan and Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad.

As per details, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs28916 sales tax million during the first ten months of the period under review while the Collectorate of Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs11886 million sales tax during the ten month of financial year 2016-17.

Similarly, Collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs18963 million sales tax during the period from July to April of the current financial year.

On the other hand, the Collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 6439 million on account of sales tax during the period of financial year 201-17.

Overall the customs Central Region collected Rs58177 million sales tax revenues during the nine month of financial year 2016-17.
