Customs central region not assigned revenue target

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not yet assigned target for the customs central region even nearly two month have passed since the start of the fiscal year 2014-15.

Sources said that the FBR has issued revenue target in the first month of the fiscal year, however, it has not yet issued target for customs central region.

Moreover, they said that the Lahore collectorate has been collecting revenue on its own to achieve the FBR’s Rs 2,810 billion target for FY 2014-15.

Some experts urged the FBR to issue target for all collectorates as soon as possible in order to avoid shortfalls.
