LAHORE: Customs Central Region has registered 44 percent growth of sales tax collection by collecting Rs13369 million against the target of Rs9284 million during the month of May 2016.
As per details, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement colleted Rs 4461 million registering growth of 39 percent against target of Rs3200 million.
Similarly, Collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs1026 million registering a growth of 33 percent against target Rs772 million.
Collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs6521 million registering growth of 36 percent against the target of Rs4789 million while the Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs1359 million sales tax registering 161 percent growth against the target of Rs 521 million.
The Central Region under the supervision of Chief Collector of Customs Samaira Nazir Khan collected Rs 13369 million sales tax revenue registering overall growth of 44 percent.
Earlier Customs Central Region has collected Rs9716 million sales tax registering growth of 20 percent during the month of April 2016.
Official data said that Customs Appraisement collected Rs4015 million registering growth of Rs28 percent while Customs Preventive collected Rs 999 million. On the other hand, Multan collectorate collected Rs 4076 million showing growth of 17 percent. Similarly, Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 626 million adding 33 percent growth of sales tax collection.
Overall the region collected Rs9716 million registering a growth of 20 percent against the monthly target of Rs8115.87 million.
The Central Region covers four collectoarte including Customs Preventive headed by Collector of customs Zulfiqar Younas, Collectorate of Appraisement headed by Collector Muhammad Sadiq, Collectorate of Multan headed by Sarfraz Warriach and Collectorate of Faislabad headed by Collector of Customs Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary.
Earlier, Chief Collector of Customs Samaira Nazir told Customs Today that she has a team of competent and hardworking collectors of customs and they have put all out efforts to achieve financial year 2015-17 revenue collection target.
