ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad dry port surpassed its assigned target of customs duty in November 2016, as it collected Rs 285.858 million against the assigned target of Rs 245 million.
Assistant Collector Amanat Ali Khan said that performance of dry port during November remained satisfactory, as it surpassed the target by Rs 40.86 million. During same period of last year 2015, the dry port collected Rs 203.94 million as customs duty, he added.
During October 2016, it collected Rs 262 million against the assigned target of Rs 225 million and surpassed the customs duty collection target by Rs 36 million by showing excellent performance, he said.
Amanat Khan added that the Islamabad dry port collected Rs 289 million in the wake of customs duty against the target of Rs 290 million during September 2016 and missed its target by Rs 1 million.
During August 2016, it collected revenue under the head of customs duty amounting to Rs 276 million against the target of Rs 274 million and surpassed its target by Rs 2 million set for the said month, he said, adding that the dry port generated Rs 159 million as customs duty against the target of Rs 119 million during July 2016 and surpassed its target by Rs 40 million.
