Customs Court acquits six suspects of theft charges

KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday acquitted six suspects of a case pertaining to theft of valuable goods from a duty free shop.

Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi pronounced this verdict in presence of the accused persons and defense counsel. The detailed judgment would be issued later.

According to the prosecution, valuable goods worth millions of rupees were stolen from Pakistan Customs’ duty free shop in the city’s Baloach Colony. Following the incident, an FIR was registered against the suspects who included security officials and guards of a private company.

The suspects included Mian Taimor, Sadiq Shah, Rehman, Nawaz and three others.
