LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned the hearing of post arrest bail plea of Khuram Shahzad, who was allegedly involved in mobile phones and LEDs smuggling case.
Khuram Shahzad is in jail on 14 days judicial remand while earlier the suspect was on physical remand and was in custody of the Sialkot customs Investigation and Prosecution.
Accused Khuram Shahzad was arrested by Sialkot Customs intelligence after recovery of mobile phones of assorted brand and LEDs worth Rs 3.5 million from his possession.
The Customs investigation and prosecution registered a case against him under Section 2 (s), 16, 139, 157(1) and 178 of Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.
Officials claimed that the suspect is a professional smuggler and has a large network in Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Peshawar to safely shift the items from tribal areas to other big cities of Punjab.
