Customs Court adjourns TCS, Smart Zone’s case

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling adjourned a case against a courier company, TCS and Smart Zone regarding the alleged smuggling of non-duty paid electronics into Pakistan in guise of Afghan Transit Trade.

The case has been adjourned until April 24 as the judge was on leave.

On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the case against the decision of Customs Appellate Tribunal for dismissing the fine of Rs 105 million imposed on the both companies. The decision was challenged in IHC by the Islamabad Customs Intelligence.

It may mention here that IHC has issued stay order against the decision of Customs Appellate Tribunal on the application of Customs Intelligence.
