LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved the bail plea of three suspects who were arrested from Sialkot International Airport on March 1.
Sources told Customs Today that the suspects were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the information of a smuggler who was caught while trying to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency from Sialkot to Sharjah.
The Customs Court has granted bail to three suspects, Adnan Afzal, Imran Khan and Muhammad Irfan, while main accused is still in jail on judicial remand.
Sources said that main accused of the case is Altaf Hussain who was booked red handed with foreign currency. Currency valued Rs 37 million was recovered from his luggage, while he was trying to leave for Sharjah through Air Arabia.
