LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent an accused to jail on 14 days judicial remand.
Sources told Customs Today that the suspect, Wamiq Zaka, was arrested by the Federal Board of Revenue Inland Revenue because of his involvement in huge sales tax evasion. Sources said that the accused was arrested after the FBR authorities received information that he is evading sales tax in millions of rupees. After confirming the tax evasion Inland Revenue got arrest warrants of the accused from customs court and booked him from Lahore under Pakistan Sales Tax act 1992.
Inland Revenue team presented him before the court after expiry of his physical remand where customs court directed to send him to jail on judicial remand.
