Customs Court approves three days physical remand of vehicle smuggler

LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation had seized Rs 1 million non-customs paid Toyota Corolla car and arrested a smuggler on Friday.

On Saturday, Customs Investigation team presented the accused before the court of Chaudary Ameer Muhammad Khan and asked for physical remand of the accused because they need to further investigation in this case. It was revealed during investigation that a number of people are running a network in Lahore who are involved in supplying non-customs paid smuggled vehicles from Northern Areas to the provincial capital of Punjab.

Special Federal court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved a three-day remand of the accused Jamil and handed him over to the investigation team.  Earlier, Customs Inspector Malik Mubeen and had seized Toyota Corolla on Wahdat Road. The suspect is a resident of Sibi. Further investigations are under way.
