LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved another 14 days judicial remand of the accused who was arrested by the customs authorities from Lahore airport.
Sources told Customs Today that Ibrar Islam was arrested by the Customs Preventive from Allama Iqbal International Airport while he was travelling for Muscat.
During search of the luggage, the Customs Preventive found a huge quantity of gold that he was trying to smuggle from Lahore to the Gulf state. The Customs team arrested him and found 550 grams gold that was hidden in his bag.
Customs had registered a case against the accused Ibrar and launched investigation as well after confiscating the gold that he was trying to smuggle.
Customs Investigation and Prosecution team presented him before the judge of the customs court and asked him for his physical remand that the court was approved for three days for investigation to dig out the more accused behind the smuggling act. Now he was again produced before the customs court that has sent him to jail on judicial demand.
Customs authorities registered a case against him under Pakistan Customs Act 1969.
