Internal audit of Sialkot Customs Collectorate starts

SIALKOT: The Internal Audit Department has started the internal audit of the Customs Collectorate, Sialkot.
Sources told Customs Today that Saima Zaib along with her team started started the internal audit of Customs Collectorate, Sialkot.

The team would audit the accounts of all departments, including Customs Preventive, Appraising, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Export, Import, Recovery etc. The Collectorate staff will fullly co-operate with audit team to provide required documents during the audit process. The team will audit in a separate room and not authorize to get any help for the purpose of audit by the Collectorate staff. The team would audit independently without any pressure and would keep the audit process secret.

The team will find any fault then not show openly rather the team mark objection and declare fault. The team will provide audit para report to Customs Collectorate authorities.

A member of team Zulifqar told Customs Today that the internal audit is very appropriate and the team always done audit after announcement of fiscal year budget and before December 31 every year. He said that the main purpose of internal audit to declare the faults in account, debit, credit, prices of purchasing items etc. He said that usually customs authorities don’t try to clear fault when Internal Audit Department Authorities take action then Customs Authorities clear faults otherwise audit para stand to take action against authorities as concerned per law.
