LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved judicial remand of Altaf Hussain. The accused was arrested from Sialkot International airport while making an attempt to smuggle huge amount of foreign currency.
Sources told Customs Today that Altaf Hussain was arrested red handed with foreign currency valuing Rs 37 million. He was going to Sharjah while the Federal Investigation Agency and Customs Sialkot arrested him.
Earlier, the Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling approved bail plea of three suspects who were arrested from Sialkot airport on March 1. They were allegedly involved in currency smuggling with Altaf.
The Customs Court has granted bail to three suspects, Adnan Afzal, Imran Khan and Muhammad Irfan, while the main accused is still in jail on judicial remand.
