LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended the judicial remand of an accused who is allegedly involved in smuggling of gold, diamond and precious watches for another 14 days.
Earlier, the court had sent the accused to jail in on a fourteen days judicial remand. Customs Investigation and Prosecution team had presented an investigation challan against the couple.
As per detail, customs authorities deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport recovered smuggled diamonds, 2.5 kilograms of gold and eight watches of Rado brand worth Rs 15 million from a passengers, Rana Muhammad Rafique who was travelling from Sharjah to Lahore.
After arresting them, the customs investigation team presented them before the court and got their physical remand for interrogation. However, the hearing of the case has also been adjourned until next week.
