Customs court grants bail to alleged smugglers; hears 36 cases

LAHORE: The Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Lahore heard 36 cases of smuggling and tax evasion here on Monday, besides granting bail to alleged smugglers.

Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Judge Nazeer Ahmad Gunjana judge heard the cases, scheduled for the day and issued necessary directions in various cases.

On the other hand, the court also granted bail in a case of smuggling to accused Naeem and his partner, who smuggled cloth from Afghanistan through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Pakistan and supplied to different parts of the country causing losses to national economy.

The court has to adjourned many cases due to the absence of the applicants or respondents.

On Monday, Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Lahore heard the cases of Sialkot, Gujranwala, Jhelum and Lahore regions.
