Customs Court grants judicial remand of suspect in tyres smuggling case

LAHORE: Special Judge of Customs Court Chaudhry Ameer Muhammad Khan has approved judicial remand of a suspect allegedly involved in tyres smuggling case and sent him to jail for judicial trial.

According to details, Hazrat Ali was arrested by the Customs intelligence team from Bund Road area of Lahore in alleged smuggling of tyres of different vehicles worth millions of rupees.

Earlier, his accomplices were also on judicial remand and some of them have got their post arrest bails from the court.

Earlier, he was in custody of Customs investigation and prosecution team on three days physical remand.

Customs investigation team after initial investigation presented him  before the Special Federal court of Customs Taxation and Anti smuggling Judge Ameer Muhammad Khan and approved their judicial remand for 14 days.

Now once again special court has extended his judicial remand of 14 days and sent him to jail.
