Customs Court orders judicial remand of alleged smuggler of auto spare parts

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent an alleged smuggler to jail on a 14-day judicial remand. The accused was arrested from Barki Road, Lahore.

According to details, Arshad Mahmood, son of Muhammad Ashraf, was nabbed from Barki Road by Customs Intelligence and Investigation on a tip-off. The intelligence team found smuggled auto spare parts from his vehicle LEA- 09- 3595.  During the investigation process, a huge quantity of smuggled spare parts were also recovered from the warehouse owned by the accused in the Badami Bagh area.  Customs authorities said that the value of the seized goods was more than Rs 8.5 million.
