LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent a suspect of cloth smuggling on physical remand for four days.
Accused Sarfraz Ahmad was presented before the Customs Court by the Sialkot Customs Intelligence and Prosecution team. The team asked the court to take 10 days physical remand of the accused for interrogation but the court granted only four days to complete the investigations.
The suspect, who is allegedly involved in cloth smuggling from Afghanistan, was arrested by the staff of Gujranwala FIA that produced him before the Customs Court seeking physical remand. The court rejected the FIA’s request and directed it to register a case against him at Customs House, Sambrial.
On Friday, the customs officials presented him before the same court and got physical remand for four days.
