Customs Court hears 17 cases on Monday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 17 different cases on Monday, including pre-arrest bail pleas, besides recording statements of the witnesses.

The special court adjourned many cases, including those related to bail pleas of three suspects. The Customs Court adjourned the pre-arrest bail pleas of Muhammad Shahzad and Asghar Ali in tax evasion cases. Both the accused were wanted to the authorities in tax evasion cases in Gujranwala and Faisalabad.

The cases scheduled for hearing on Monday included those of tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics. A case of narcotics against Mirza Iqbal was also adjourned.

The court also proceeded on statements of witnesses in three different cases.
