Customs Court hears 18 cases on Saturday, accepts bail plea in one

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 18 important cases on Saturday and adjourned most of the cases.

On Saturday, total 18 cases of different types were scheduled for hearing, including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons as well the court adjourned bail pleas of Siraj Malik and Hussain until the next date of hearing.

In a case of alleged smuggling, the court of Chaudhry Ameer Muhamamd Khan approved a bail plea. The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses in four different cases on the day. The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.

The court accepted bail against guarantee of cash and property documents. The Customs Court also adjourned many cases of witnesses in smuggling cases. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for hearing.
