Customs Court hears 21 cases on Friday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 21 different cases which were scheduled for hearing, including pre-arrest bail pleas and statements of the witnesses on Friday.

The cases, which were scheduled for hearing on Friday, included tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics.  In a case of smuggling, the Customs Court issued arrest warrants for Muhammad Tahir. The court also directed the Customs authorities to arrest him and produce him before the court on next hearing.

The Customs Court adjourned the pre arrest bail plea of Muhammad Saghir in tax evasion case while bail plea of Irfan Altaf also adjourned for Monday who is in jail on judicial remand.

A case of narcotics smuggling against Javed Iqbal was also adjourned. He was allegedly involved in smuggling of drugs. The court also proceeded on statements of witnesses on five different cases on the day.
