Customs Court hears 22 cases on Friday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 22 important cases on Friday and  issued necessary directions.

The cases, including tax evasion, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the hearing. Cases of smuggling were also  part of the day’s schedule in which the court recorded the statements of parties. In some cases Customs Court recorded witnesses statements and issued necessary directions.

Customs Court also granted bails to Muhammad Jamil and Babar Sattar. Court has granted bails to both of the accused against guarantees of cash. Customs Court rejected bail of Humayon Rasheed until next hearing of the case.

Special Judge of Customs Court Nazeer Ahmad Gajana has directed the parties and customs officials to complete the challans of the cases soon to speed up the cases in the Court .
